About Us

Hello, I am Michael Feltz

When I was around 8 years old my dad introduced me to woodworking. His first lesson he taught me was how to cut a piece of wood with a hand s

aw in a vice that he got from his dad. After that day working in the shop I was hooked. I loved the smell of fresh cut wood and even sound of the saw cutting through the wood was music to my soul. We built many small projects together such as bird houses, wood toys and small pieces of furniture. Those days with my dad were so memorable after all these years. My dad taught me so much that I will never forget over the years. He was my whole world.
He passed away in 2003 but his spirit runs through me every minute of every day especially when I'm in my shop.

I took woodworking classes in high school every chance I could. There's nothing like the smell of oak running through the table saw or the chips flying off a piece of maple through the lathe. It was my heaven.
After high school I tried getting jobs in shops but no one was looking for inexperienced kids out of high school at the time.
Over the years of working out of the trade I finally got the opportunity to start my business I had dreamed about in high school. 2018 I filed for my LLC and Rustic Reveal was born. Rustic Reveal is my version of taking an old board cut from a farmers property to build a barn or log cabin over a 100 years ago. Running that board through tools and machines then sanding it to reveal its natural beauty of weathering years of rain, snow, wind, sleet, ice, heat and livestock. I think about those days many years ago when I take down a log cabin or barn.
Especially a farmer that cut a board I was able to salvage who probably learned to cut it from his dad like mine.
This business isn't just about building things I love but the stories I learn from these structures I help pass on.
